My career began at Beth Israel Medical Center/Continuum Health Partners in Manhattan, as a Physician-Scientist at that institution s newly established Institute for Head and Neck and Thyroid Cancer. I developed a basic science research laboratory, collaborating with senior investigators at the NYU School of Dental Medicine. My research was funded through a combination of national society and private foundation career development awards, and resulted in several publications, nationally recognized basic science research in head and neck oncology, and several national presentations and awards. In this role I helped to establish one of the first fully integrated multidisciplinary oncology programs in our growing health system dedicated to the initial evaluation, care and survivorship of cancer patients, specifically those with head and neck tumors. The Head and Neck Oncology Program at Northwell has now evolved into one of regional as well as national renown, with the ability to deliver sophisticated multidisciplinary surgical and nonsurgical head and neck oncologic care at multiple sites throughout our network. Our clinical team also maintains a close collaboration with leading senior basic science investigators at Northwell's Feinstein Institute, focusing on HPV-associated oropharynx cancer. In 2014, I was appointed Northwell Health Cancer Institute s first Director of Surgical Oncology, and served in this position until early 2019. In the Spring of 2019, I was appointed Director of Operations of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. In this capacity I serve as the liaison between the Institute, its members, and the various hospitals and outpatient cancer treatment facilities throughout the Northwell network where cancer care is delivered.
